
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th of 1976. His family was from Southern California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in both sports at the University of California. He helped lead the team's football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receptions with nine, and tied it. Gonzalez was able to lead the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months after. Gonzalez then went to the NFL Draft in 1997. Gonzalez was picked as the 13th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was a player with the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. He was then transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. After his second season in the NFL, he never caught less than 59 passes in an entire season.
